Graycor’s Engineer Mentor Committee Holds First Lift Training Seminar

As part of the continued education and training of engineers who will serve on Graycor Industrial’s project sites, Graycor’s Engineer Mentor Committee (EMC) recently held its inaugural lift plan and equipment training seminar.

The training—held at Graycor Industrial’s Portage, Indiana, facility—included a total of 17 Graycor employees.

Topics covered throughout the day included lift plans, equipment safety and operation training, as well as the capabilities of Graycor Industrial’s Portage Yard and Fabrication Shop facility.

“The committee’s goal in holding these sessions is to teach our engineers about Graycor’s processes, procedures, capabilities and other aspects of our business,” says Tom Baskind, director of pre-construction services for Graycor Industrial and EMC member. “The new lift plan training and equipment operation seminar is an important addition to the overall training program,” he adds.

Through its mentoring training program, Graycor’s Engineer Mentor Committee, which was revamped in 2014, educates, guides and trains new engineers hired by the company.
